Talent and OD Specialist

Summary/Job Scope:
VCNA’s Talent and Organizational Development (OD) Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating learning, performance, and talent initiatives that enhance the skills, engagement, and future readiness of VCNA’s workforce. This role partners closely with HR, business leaders, and cross-functional teams to build capabilities, support succession planning, improve performance, and drive continuous development aligned with VCNA’s strategic goals and culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performance Management
- In collaboration with HR Business Partners, design, implement, and refine performance management systems to ensure they drive high levels of employee performance and engagement.
- Develop tools and processes for managers to effectively evaluate and improve team performance.
- Provide ongoing support and coaching to managers on performance management best practices.
- Monitor and analyze performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Talent & Succession Management
- In collaboration with HR Business Partners and leaders, assist in facilitating talent reviews and succession planning processes that identify and develop internal talent pipelines for critical roles
- Support the implementation and tracking of development plans for high-potential employees and successors
- Analyze talent data and workforce trends to inform succession strategies and future talent needs
- Contribute to the evolution of VCNA’s talent philosophy and career development framework
- Organizational Needs Assessments:
- Conduct assessments to identify gaps in performance and development needs across different levels of VCNA.
- Use data-driven insights to recommend and implement targeted interventions.
- Change Management
- Support change management initiatives by ensuring that performance management and talent management processes are aligned with new organizational strategies.
- Develop communication and training materials to facilitate the adoption of new performance management practices.
- Leverage Talent and OD frameworks to support strategic change, leadership transitions, and organizational culture initiatives.
- Support change efforts tied to workforce capability building, restructuring, and evolving talent needs.
- Assist with team or individual interventions that support organizational effectiveness, change readiness, and leadership transitions.
- Employee Engagement
- Assist with the design of strategies to enhance employee engagement through performance recognition and development opportunities.
- Collaborate with HR Partners to develop programs that foster a culture of continuous improvement and growth.
- Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
- Assist with the design and management of VCNA’s employee resource groups (ERGs)
- Collaborate and partner with communications team to ensure DEI messaging is aligned with organizational culture and goals
- Assist with the development and delivery of inclusion-related content and programming for all of VCNA
- Data Analysis and Reporting
- Analyze performance management and development data to assess the effectiveness of current programs and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide regular reports to leadership on key performance metrics and development progress.
- Assist in the analysis and identify trends of VCNA engagement surveys
- Collaboration
- Partner with HR, leadership and department heads to ensure alignment of performance management and development strategies with business objectives.
- Act as a consultant to HR Partners and managers on performance-related issues and development planning.
- All other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education or related field.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in organizational development, performance management or related field.
- Experience in designing and implementing performance management systems and IDPs.
- Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) or similar certification is a plus.

- Analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on data-driven decision-making
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in SAP SuccessFactors Learning Management System (LMS)
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Valid Driver’s license and valid passport is a must.
- Up to 25% travel to various VCNA locations in North America (US and Canada)
