WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
The Talent Acquisition Manager leads the execution of VCNA’s talent acquisition strategy across assigned business areas in the US and Canada. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality hiring outcomes while partnering closely with HR Business Partners and business leaders to support workforce needs.
This role focuses on driving recruiting execution, leading a team of recruiters, and ensuring consistent, efficient hiring processes aligned with business priorities.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Lead day-to-day execution of talent acquisition across assigned business areas
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of recruiters to deliver against hiring goals
- Partner with HR Partners and hiring managers to understand hiring needs and align on priorities
- Allocate requisitions and resources based on business demand and team capacity
- Monitor key recruiting metrics (e.g. time-to-fill, quality of hire, candidate experience, etc.) and drive continuous improvement
- Support hiring for critical roles, including select leadership positions as needed
- Ensures consistent use of recruiting processes, tools, and systems (e.g. SuccessFactors ATS, Handshake, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Identify opportunities to improve recruiting efficiency and candidate experience
Diversity, Pipeline & Workforce Strategy
- Partner with HR Partners and business leaders to support diverse hiring efforts and inclusive recruiting practices
- Contribute to pipeline development efforts for key roles as needed
- Partner with OD and HR leadership to support overall recruiting strategy with succession planning priorities and future business needs
Strategy, Innovation & AI Enablement
- Support the implementation of recruiting tools, technologies, and process improvements to enhance efficiency and candidate experience
- Leverage data and insights to inform recruiting decisions and identify areas for development
- Research and support the integration of AI and technology into recruiting processes (e.g. sourcing, screening, scheduling, analytics, etc.) to improve speed, quality and efficiency
- Pilot and scale new tools, technologies and approaches that drive measurable impact
Peak Season & Workforce Planning
- Lead seasonal hiring strategy (e.g. spring hourly driver surge, etc.), ensuring readiness and execution across the team
- Rebalance recruiter workloads and adjust priorities between hourly and salaried hiring as business needs shift
- Activate temporary recruiting support or external partners as needed to meet demand
Authority & Decision-Making:
- Makes day-to-day decisions related to requisition prioritization and recruiter workload
- Recommends recruiting strategy and process improvements
- Escalates complex or high-impact decisions to senior HR leadership
- Uses data and metrics to guide decisions, monitor performance and drive recommendations for continuous improvement
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Organizational Psychology, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of progressive talent acquisition experience, including team leadership
- Experience supporting leadership hiring preferred
- Experience leading recruiting across multiple locations or regions (US & Canada preferred)
- Strong business acumen with the ability to translate workforce and succession needs into recommended hiring strategies
- Demonstrated experience leveraging data, metrics, and technology (including AI) in recruiting
- Proven ability to influence senior leaders and manage complex stakeholder environments
- Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or hourly workforce environments preferred
- Hands-on experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HR databases.
- Working knowledge of labor legislation and compliant recruiting practices in both the US and Canada
Language Skills:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to employee groups, management at all levels of the company. Bilingual in English and French is a plus
Computer Skills:
- Advanced proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and HRIS platforms (e.g., SuccessFactors, Workday, UKG or equivalent)
- Strong experience using data analytics and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI dashboards) to drive recruiting insights and decisions
- Demonstrated experience leveraging AI-enabled recruiting tools and technologies (e.g., sourcing, screening, automation, and talent insights platforms)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills preferred
- Experience utilizing talent market intelligence tools (e.g. LinkedIn Talent Insights or similar) to inform workforce and recruiting strategies
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies, systems and digital tools

Salary Range: $105,000 - $120,000
