WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
Reporting to the Tax Manager, the Senior Tax Analyst will be responsible for ensuring compliance with U.S. sales tax filings, assisting with tax audits, drafting objections, preparing simple tax provisions, filing information returns, and supporting ad hoc tax-related projects.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Review invoices and payments for sales tax compliance
- Analyze sales tax accounts and prepare working papers to support the monthly/quarterly/annual US sales tax returns and ensure compliance of sales tax returns filing
- Assist members of the business with sales tax compliance questions by conducting technical sales tax research and analyzing tax issues
- Assist with managing indirect tax audits and liaising with US tax authorities
- Keep current with US sales tax legislative and administrative changes and communicate any impact to the organization
- Prepare monthly provisions and journal entries including tax account reconciliations, true ups adjustments and facilitate legal entity tax installment calculation
- Participate in ad-hoc projects to provide tax inputs as needed.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Tax or Finance
- Must have professional accounting designation (CPA) or close to completion
- 4+ years of US sales tax experience
- Proficiency with computer software (Corporate Taxprep, Microsoft excel (can perform complex functions), Word and PowerPoint)
- Experience working within IFRS environment
- Sound business and finance knowledge and judgement
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven problem-solving capabilities and an excellent attention to detail.
- Aptitude to work both independently and as a team member in a dynamic environment.
- Self-motivated person who takes initiative and ownership to improve tax related processes and procedures.

Salary Range: $55- $60 per hour.
