CBM Ready-Mix is seeking a Laboratory Technician (Student), based in Toronto.

This position is for Students available between May – December 2026.  

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up laboratory equipment and instrumentation required to perform test, investigations, research and/or process control.
  • Tests and analyzes products such as concrete, aggregate and cement for plastic and hardened requirements.
  • Documents result of tests and analyses.
  • Prepares chemical solutions for use in processing materials, following standardized formulas or experimental procedures.
  • Conducts maintenance for the laboratory facility
  • Plans for efficient use of materials and equipment  
  • Performs statistical analyses and reports on cement and concrete performance to identify raw material quality.
  • Completed, maintains and processes pertinent paperwork and records.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently enrolled in Civil Engineering Technician (CET) program, or similar program OR have graduated from the same.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fundamental knowledge of computer software (Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel)
  • Valid drivers license
  • CCIL/CSA certifications for testing concrete/aggregate would be an asset.
