Internal Auditor

Job Purpose: The Internal Auditor is responsible for conducting assigned audit engagements, applying risk and control concepts to identify any potential issues, and ensuring that concerns are addressed in a timely and effective manner by communicating with the Internal Audit Manager. The role exists to safeguard the organization’s operations through effective risk assessments and internal audits.

Key Job Functions:

  • Conduct assigned audit engagements successfully from beginning to end, ensuring adherence to professional standards.
  • Evaluate compliance with organizational policies and procedures and document audit findings comprehensively.
  • Perform internal audit tests, identify situations that may impact business performance, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Conduct risk assessments and assess the effectiveness of internal controls in business processes.
  • Support daily activities of auditors assigned to assist with audit projects and provide guidance where needed.
  • Conduct interviews with representatives of audited areas to gather necessary information.
  • Discuss and validate observations and findings with senior management and process owners to ensure agreement on audit conclusions.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2-4 years of audit experience required;
  • Ability to observe, understand, and document business processes accurately.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to handle competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of management.
  • Experience with SAP, data analytics, and tools such as ACL or TeamMate is desirable.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required.
  • Bilingual in English and French is desirable (but not required).
  • Relevant certifications (CPA, CIA, CISA, CFE) are an asset but not required.
  • Technical expertise in auditing, finance, and operations is a plus.

This role requires the ability and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally (up to 30%), sometimes for extended periods of 2 to 3 weeks
