Summary/Job Scope:
The Applications Support Specialist is responsible for ensuring that VCNA’s IT applications and systems reliably and effectively support the company’s business goals. The incumbent will achieve this by addressing business requirements and improving business effectiveness by collaborating with the business teams, local and global IT, and vendors to deliver solutions aligned with the overall IT strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
• Define project plans for implementing solutions including project scope, technical, financial, resource, change, and people-related aspects.
• Manage small implementation projects
• Estimate project schedule and cost based upon agreed scope.
• Communicate well verbally and in writing: listen, understand, and respond both appropriately and effectively with team members and business focal points.
• Become an expert in a technical environment that includes SAP S/4HANA, Coupa, CRM (C4C), business specific applications, integration platforms, and SQL-based custom solutions.
• Become well versed in a business environment that includes Concrete, Ready Mix, and Aggregates businesses, and standard Corporate functions (e.g. Finance, HR, Legal).
• Implement and/or repair software solutions with little support and feedback from team architects
• Contribute to the team with improvements in technologies, security, and governance.
• Communicate technical design through functional/technical specifications and diagrams (Landscape, Dataflow, Sequence).
• Create and execute test plans and detailed test scripts for software solutions (custom and vendor solutions).
• Follow proper documentation practices and version control.
• Understanding networking sufficiently well to analyze application requirements and impacts.
• Support and respond to assigned tickets and provide second and third level support including occasional emergency support after regular working hours.
• Lead problem investigations to assess complex system incidents and problems, provide reasonably accurate effort estimates, independently determine root cause, determine solutions to implement, and document resolutions for future reference.
• Independently repair and recover from system failures in a timely manner even when not familiar with the system.
• Coordinate and clearly communicate with impacted parties.
• Support vulnerability remediation, participate in user access reviews, ensure/provide audit/compliance documentation.
• Advanced level knowledge of MS Windows operating systems, scripts, Active Directory, and familiarity with computer hardware, interfaces, and systems.
• Work with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to improve existing systems and services and ensure SLAs and KPIs are met.
Qualifications:
• University degree in Computer Science or a related information technology field.
• 5+ years of related experience working closely with vendors and with outsourced support teams
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, with a focus on root cause analysis.
• Analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with a broad range of people.
• Strong technical skills, especially Microsoft technology stack (dotnet, SQL, PowerBI)
• Self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
• Analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
• Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills in English.
• Fluency in French or Portuguese would be an asset.

Salary Range: $82,114.11 $102,642.63 CAD
