Summary/Job Scope:

The Analyst, Strategy & Business Development will support company-wide activities of the Cement, Ready-Mix, and Aggregates Division. Responsibilities include economic, market, and competitive analyses, assessment of supply and demand conditions, industry structure, identification and justification of Merger and Acquisition (M&A) opportunities, and M&A support in areas such as integration, communications, and post-M&A analyses.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform or coordinate studies to ensure a thorough understanding of new markets, products, industry structure, competitor dynamics, supply and demand conditions, and business economics, applying internal processes and policies.
  • Perform or coordinate analysis and interpretation of business results, operations, processes, and procedures to assist in business improvement.
  • Coordinate the development of business cases and justifications for capital projects and acquisition opportunities.
  • Research and analyze potential acquisitions in alignment with strategic growth objectives.
  • Participate in special teams for due diligence and analysis of new business opportunities.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources on specific projects, including legal, planning, finance, environment, and pre- and post-acquisition diligence.
  • Assist in the annual capital budgeting process for business units.
  • Determine if new businesses establish and achieve appropriate performance targets (financial, operational, technical, commercial, safety, and environmental).
  • Support the overall activities of the Business Development function within St Marys to deliver operational and commercial efficiency.
  • Provide direction and recommendations to the St Marys Business Development team.
  • Generate insights into benchmarking St Marys business performance internally and externally, providing specific recommendations for improving company performance or structure.
  • Support collaborative business planning within St Marys.
  • Contribute to the coordination and promotion of new products and markets, and assess St Marys competitive position in the industry.
  • Ensure that St Marys business development capabilities support goals and objectives in production and delivery, quality, operations, and product performance & development.
  • Promote St Marys in industry and trade associations as necessary.
  • Assist all Divisions in international business development activities as directed by the Business Development Manager.
  • Assist in managing various projects as directed by the Business Development Manager, including information systems, reporting, asset management, training & development, and business improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in annual strategic planning and budgeting processes.
  • Provide support and guidance to General Managers to assist in analyzing and understanding regional financial reports.
  • Prepare St Marys Management Presentations, Senior Management Reporting Books, and supporting files.
  • Perform other duties consistent with this role.

 

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Engineering.
  • At least 3 years of experience in finance or related areas.
  • Strong understanding of financial terms, economic models, market analyses, and feasibility studies in the cement industry.
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and communicate clearly with all levels of the organization.

Salary Range: $ 80,000 to $ 100,000
