Summary/Job Scope:

Purpose of Position: Monitors conveyors, product, and process for the mill system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operating and inspecting equipment to diagnose defects
  • Dismantling and reassembling trucks, machines, and equipment to gain access to problem areas.
  • Examining parts for damage or excessive wear and determining re-usability
  • Repairing, replacing, cleaning, and lubricating parts as necessary
  • Repairing malfunctioning hydraulic components
  • Diagnosing and correcting electrical problems
  • Replacing malfunctioning subassemblies and components (e.g., transmissions, clutches, differentials, engines, etc.)
  • Welding, cutting, and fabricating of all equipment and components
  • Changing oil, checking and changing batteries, and performing complete lubrication tasks on equipment and machinery
  • Changing tires and repairing tires and tubes
  • Testing repaired equipment to ensure operating efficiency
  • Performing preventative maintenance (PM’s)
  • Making recommendations for equipment to be repaired by outside sources
  • Requisitioning parts and equipment
  • Visually inspecting and listening and equipment to locate cause of malfunctions
  • Record keeping and reporting

Qualifications and Education:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Heavy equipment & mixer truck repair
  • Knowledge of electrical systems
  • Knowledge of steering mechanisms and suspensions
  • Knowledge of driveline to include clutch, flywheel, transmissions, and differentials
  • Current, valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's license (or must obtain within 1 year of hire. Company will assist)
  • Manipulating components in hard-to-reach places with hands or tools
  • Satisfactory driving and criminal record required.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow instructions (written and oral) and work independently.
  • Must be able to read, speak, write, and understand English.
  • Must have own tools.

$34.25/hourly
