Summary/Job Scope:

The Terminal Operator moves product in and out of the terminal in a timely, cost-effective, and safe manner.

 

Key Responsibilities:

•    Ability to operate and conduct general maintenance on cement handling equipment (pneumatic pumps, hoses, fittings, air slides and valves)
•    As scheduled, will take part in the discharge of cement from our marine vessels to pneumatic tanks/storage silo’s.
•    Will perform the loading of trucks/customers/carriers using the proper SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) for each task.
•    Maintains grounds: offices, warehouse, yard, Shovels and cleans various areas of the distribution center
•    Carry’s out tasks, related to our re-claiming operations. This includes front-end loader operations within our storage warehouse. 
•    Assists with general mechanical maintenance and inspections for stationary equipment such as ventilation systems, dust collectors, compressors, and blowers.
•    Participate in temporary assignments when requested.
•    Help the supervisor in optimize the utilization rate of the terminal operating equipment and follow-up.
•    Complete various reports related to distribution.
•    Maintain proper customer service to clients and carriers
•    Maintain and record inventory (SAP & excel spreadsheets)
•    Execute other related tasks requested by your supervisor
•    Having flexibility for overtime as needed for maintaining ship and marine operations.

  • Will be acceptable, to all training and certification for safe working procedures

 

Competencies (specific knowledge, aptitudes, skills, behaviours)

  • Problem solving skills
  • Strong maintenance background
  • Industrial mechanical experience preferred
  • Team Player
  • Customer focussed
  • Have experience in the use of Computer (Microsoft Office word, Excel and outlook for email).
  • Having the ability to work safely and calmly, during time sensitive situations.
  • Knowledge in cement and the construction industry is an asset.

 

Hiring Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s license
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • The ability to obtain a TWIC card in relation to our site security plan
