Under the responsibility of the Production Supervisor and / or Field Supervisor, the incumbent of a day laborer position at the cement plant has the following responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Promote a safe work environment by actively participating in and complying with all plant safety programs.
• Perform general manual work in the plant and quarry as directed.
- General housekeeping, including but not limited to shoveling, sweeping, vacuuming, hammering, etc.
• Be prepared for a confined space rescue and / or work at height, if required.
• Report any safety issues / concerns to your immediate supervisor without delay.
• Report any environmental issues to your immediate supervisor without delay.
• Actively participate in the continuous improvement process, write reports on the cleanliness of the various plants in the plant
- Handle large parts and piping using various types of equipment;
• Ensure the cleanliness of the plant and the good condition of the tools and work equipment;
- Cleaning of production equipment, conveyors, sieves, etc.
• Be called upon to work at heights,
- Drive vehicles and operate small equipment (pickup truck, cherry picker, forklift, tanker, wheel loader, crawler loader, bobcat, vacuum truck, etc.) to remove snow, raw materials or other materials from buildings, the ground or equipment.
- Perform deburring tasks on equipment, such as filters, chutes, hoppers, conveyors, and other equipment.
- Maintain good communication and contribute to the improvement and smooth running of the department's activities.
- Assist cement plant operators in emergency interventions for cyclone and snowman blockages.
• Perform any other related tasks.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Ease of teamwork and good communication skills;
• Ability to respond in an emergency, if required.
- Analytical, problem-solving and prioritization skills;
- Minutia, precision and attention to detail.
REQUIREMENTS
- DEP in welding, diesel mechanics or any other work experience and/or training deemed relevant.
- Successfully complete the Confined Space and High Angle Rescue training program and commit to maintaining these valid skills.
• Ability to use IT tools.
• Hold a valid driver's licence without restriction
