Job Purpose
Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, support and maintenance of plant related systems and related IT infrastructure in the cement plant and remote plants (cement terminals, ready-mix and aggregates plants) in the designated region. Additionally, this position provides second level technical support, by giving in-person, hands-on support to end users at the desktop level as necessary. Works with IT corporate team and Service Desk to ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software, applications, and related procedures adhere to organizational standards and policies.
Key Job Functions
- Maintain and support local network (including wireless), phone systems, audio / video conferencing systems, storage, and servers, including file, print and backup servers and their associated operating systems, hardware and software.
- Provide support to IT infrastructure, including but not limited to servers, desktop and mobile applications setup, configuration, connectivity, and troubleshooting.
- Provide daily end user second level support. Assist users with any IT issues, support all printers, scanners, email, Microsoft Office and other hardware and software applications.
- Responsible for new hardware and software deployment, software installation, new mobile devices and computer imaging and deployment, onboarding new users.
- Ensure that all local systems are protected against security threats, patched and configured according to corporate security policies and with security tools (such as antivirus) up to date, and compliance with licensing requirements.
- Provide emergency on call 24 hour / 7 days a week support for the designated plant / region.
Skills
- Analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with a broad range of people.
- Technical skills: must have knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft Office applications, database software, Internet software; server architecture, virtualization, storage, backup-and-recovery tools, data security, phone systems and network architecture and topology.
- Ability to juggle multiple responsibilities simultaneously, stay focused on deadlines, and handle complex problems efficiently.
- Highly self-motivated and directed, with strong organization stills and keen attention to detail.
Education
- Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- MCP and network certification is desirable.
Experience
- 5+ years equivalent work experience in a 24/7 manufacturing facility maintaining a highly reliable information systems environment.
- Experience with using and troubleshooting Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience working in a Microsoft Active Directory environment.
- Experience working with outsourced support teams.
Knowledge (technical/practical/managerial)
- Knowledge of Microsoft based operating systems.
- Understanding of PC hardware, software.
- Understanding of networking concepts and knowledge of network set-up and configuration
- Knowledge of server virtualization technologies.
- Knowledge of SAN storage, backup software architecture and concepts.
- Knowledge of plant automation systems, plant maintenance systems, and related applications.
- Knowledge of phone systems, including Voice Over IP (VOIP) phone systems.
- Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives, and main business processes.
- Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills in English.

- Must be able to define problems, collect data, perform research, establish facts and draw defendable conclusions.
- Must be able to interpret an extensive variety of technical information and abstract or concrete variables and determine appropriate measures or technology to increase systems effectiveness.
- The person in this role must regularly solve unusual or unique problems, providing solutions to issues arising out of VCNA’s unique hardware and software environment. Original thinking is often required to assess, troubleshoot, and mitigate issues that arise on a regular basis.
ACCOUNTABILITY – The role requires significant autonomy, particularly when managing time, prioritizing tasks. The incumbent will have little day-to-day supervision, instead working independently towards achieving broader goals.
PHYSICAL EFFORT - Moderate-intermediate positions of moderate physical activity, e.g., sitting in one place, standing, walking, sustained keyboarding, working in awkward or constrained physical positions or confined/restricted space for up to 50% of the workday.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT - Frequent exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable conditions e.g. minor conditions of dust, dirt, noise, odors, inclement weather, grease/oil etc.
Work activities involve a frequent need to concentrate on a variety of sensory inputs for lengthy durations of time requiring diligence and attention to interpret effectively.
MENTAL STRESS - Frequent exposure to mental pressure conditions where the mental stress would be noticeable e.g., deadlines that are competing, dealing with clients who are angry, demanding, uncooperative etc.

Salary Range: $ 70,000 to $ 87,000
