Summary/Job Scope:
Supports the plant on specific production or process routines or short-term projects to contribute to the plant performance improvement. With safety being the foundation of all we do, works in the direction to acquire robust technical know how about cement production process, reliability and maintenance initiatives, energy conservation and environment impacts. Works with production, project and process teams to develop management and leadership skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Includes the following: other duties may be assigned as required.
- Supports the plant on searching and keeping abreast about new technologies and equipment.
- Supports production and process routines to assure accomplishment to the performance indicators.
- Develops and control practices to improve production, process efficiency and equipment availability for the medium and long term; includes fuels, power and raw materials optimization and specification.
- Assists in identifying and implementing projects that improve overall equipment efficiency and/or reduce plant operating costs.
- Troubleshoot process problems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree/diploma from a technical school or University.
- One or two years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of the industry processes, operations, process control and/or mining.
- Knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislative/regulatory requirements.
- Mechanical aptitude/experience. Familiarization of heavy equipment.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals, and to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
- Exceptional understanding of mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Knowledge of MS Office, PI and SAP.
Job Type: Full-time, 8-hour shift, Monday - Friday work schedule, in person at Charlevoix St. Marys location.
