TITLE:             Corporate Reliability Engineer

 

LOCATION:    Charlevoix, MI    (A telecommuting/hybrid work schedule may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite, in accordance with company policies.)

 

DUTIES:         Interact with all operating groups as well as the Maintenance Department and serve as a source of support for both the Operating groups as well as the Maintenance Department. Analyze data to determine mechanical problems, including Vibration Analysis, Oils Analysis, NDTs, AARs, Thermography, and Kiln Measurements. Recommend updates to existing plant maintenance and preventative maintenance systems; and troubleshoot any equipment and/or machinery malfunctions to determine root cause(s) and develop corrective action plans. Improve plant operation by reviewing all reliability, productivity, and downtime reports to identify repetitive problems and develop solutions. Serve as reference for training operation and maintenance of the cement plant equipment including setup and providing training reports and follow up recommendations to resolve conditions affecting equipment. Participate and contribute in maintenance meetings and initiatives to work towards the continuous improvement of maintenance KPIs. Ensure the safety of all activities through enforcing safe work practices and providing motivation and effective communication. EOE.

 

REQTS:          Must have a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or a related field plus five (5) years of experience in the position offered, or as a Reliability Engineer, or a related position in the cement production industry. Must have five (5) years of experience with all of the following in the cement production industry: Writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals regarding equipment inspections, reviews and recommendations in order to resolve equipment reliability issues; Applying mathematical operations to perform the following tasks: frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis; Defining problems in a cement production process, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing conclusions; Interpreting technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and dealing with several abstract and concrete variables; Using GPD, PI, and AutoCAD manufacturing software to review and manage spare part inventories, generate critical spare part recommendations, review work order backlogs, understand shutdown scopes, update PM plans, update BOM links, review and act upon company results and KPIs, modify specifications, tolerances and materials, and review layouts and assemblies in order to troubleshoot problems; Using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software to conduct inspections, review and approve PR/PO costs, and create inspection reports and standardized templates used by plants; Presenting projects and initiatives and reviewing downtime records and pareto analysis using Microsoft programs, including Word, Project, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access; and Using RCA tools to troubleshoot.

 

TRAVEL REQT: 30% domestic and international travel is required to various and unanticipated company and client sites.

 

HOURS:         40 hours per week, Monday-Friday
