Job Purpose:

 

The Corporate Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating learning and development programs aimed at enhancing the skills, knowledge, and performance of VCNA employees. This role involves collaborating with various departments to identify training needs, develop engaging content, and deliver impactful training solutions that align with VCNA’s culture and strategic objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify skill gaps and training requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment of training programs with organizational objectives, fostering a cohesive team culture.
  • Develop engaging and effective training programs, workshops, and eLearning courses.
  • Utilize instructional design principles to create a variety of training materials, such as manuals, guides, videos, and presentations.
  • Facilitate both in-person and virtual training sessions for employees at all levels.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, surveys, and feedback with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Manage the LMS, including course uploads, user management, and reporting, and ensure training records are accurately maintained and updated.
  • Effectively communicate with all levels within VCNA to promote training programs and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and consultants to deliver specialized training when needed.
  • Assist in the development and management of the learning and development budget, and monitor expenses to ensure the cost-effective use of resources.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

 

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in learning and development, training, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience with instructional design and eLearning platforms. 
  • Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) or a similar, plus certification in instructional design (e.g., Certified Instructional Designer) preferred.
  • Proficiency in SAP SuccessFactors Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Data analysis skills for assessing training effectiveness.
  • Strong organizational and project management capabilities.
  • Ability to use course creation software and learning enhancement tools (e.g., Articulate, InDesign, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia).

 

Travel Requirements:

 

  • Valid driver’s license and passport required.
  • Up to 25% travel to VCNA locations across North America (US and Canada).
