WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
The Senior Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in setting up, installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment, housekeeping, and in fabricating parts and tools for plant improvements and upgrades. This role is located in Bowmanville, Ontario.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Maintain good relationship with other supervisors and managers in the team and another area.
- Coordinate and stays informed regarding millwrights’ activities and is responsible in assessment of all mechanical activities’ progress in your area.
- Keep yourself informed on all safety aspects regarding mechanical activities
- Anticipate problems and actions of the millwrights and tries to prevent conflicts
- Ensure all works according to quality assurance program/procedures
- Are available from time to time be required to inspect equipment
- Participate in the internal Maintenance team meetings
- Participate in specialist meetings regarding mechanical issues and Maintenance Procedures (Preventive, predictive and another tools)
- Keep yourself informed regarding any new project on going in the plant.
- Keep the Mechanical Maintenance Manager informed
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
- The ideal candidate will have a college diploma, university degree in Mechanical engineering
- 5 to 7 years of experience in mechanical maintenance in cement industry is a must
- Experience in maintenance of equipment such as crusher, kilns, vertical/ball mills, pumps, air compressor, conveyor belt, bucket elevator etc.
- 433A Trade certificate is considered an asset; has experience working and supervising in a union environment; Has a strong desire to lead a team and mentor their development;
- Has the ability to document and follow procedures; is a constructive thinker and can analyze, interpret and evaluate situations; can withstand the physicality of sitting, standing, walking or working in awkward or confined, restricted places and outside conditions;
- Has the ability to use mechanical tool such as predictive maintenance, alignments tools, vibration, and oil analysis
- Has the ability to communicate clearly in written and verbal formats;
- Experience and ability to use Microsoft Office, SAP PM, MS project.
- Participates actively to the Safety Culture in the plant.
