Summary/Job Scope:
The Selective Inspection Technician is responsible for recording and analyzing selective inspection data to determine mechanical problems within the Maintenance department. They will also update existing plant maintenance and preventative maintenance systems, troubleshoot any equipment and/or machinery malfunctions to determine root cause(s) and develop corrective action plans to rectify the problems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular and selective inspections of mechanical systems, equipment, and components to identify wear, damage, and potential failures.
- Carry out diagnostic testing, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to assess the condition of machinery and equipment, ensuring accurate identification of issues.
- Record and analyze selective inspection data to determine mechanical problems, updating existing plant maintenance and preventative maintenance systems; troubleshooting any equipment and/or machinery malfunctions to determine root cause(s) and develop corrective action plans to rectify the problems.
- Ensure all inspections and maintenance activities comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and procedures.
- Assist in troubleshooting mechanical issues and provide technical support to the maintenance team during repairs and overhauls.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the reliability and efficiency of mechanical systems.
- Provide training and guidance to junior technicians and maintenance staff on inspection techniques and best practices.
- Work collaboratively with senior technicians, engineers, and other plant personnel to ensure smooth laboratory operations.
- Ensures the safety of themselves and all colleagues through enforcing safe work practices and providing motivation and effective communication.

Qualifications:
- University Degree or College Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in mechanical inspection, maintenance, or a similar role.
- Previous experience within a cement or heavy industrial sector an asset.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, inspection equipment, and maintenance software. Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment.
- Intermediate to Advance computer skills; ability to utilize MS Office, SAP, Kronos, and other relevant software and programs pertaining to the role.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical data and make informed decisions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise reports.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in conducting inspections and documenting findings.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols.
Note: Working conditions relating to physical effort for this role has been rated Moderate-Intermediate (meaning physical activity (e.g. standing, walking, working in an awkward or constrained physical position or confined/restricted space) can be up to 50% of the workday.

Hourly Rate: $80,000 - $85,000
