Summary/Job Scope:

The Predictive Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating predictive maintenance activities to ensure optimal performance and reliability of plant equipment. This role involves supervising 4 unionized Lubrication Technicians (Mechanical Helpers), as well as executing inspections, diagnostics and data analysis to prevent equipment failures and minimize downtime in a high-demand cement production environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate predictive maintenance tasks including vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, and ultrasonic testing.
  • Directs, supervises and assigns duties to predictive lubrication and vibration technicians in any/all predictive maintenance activities within the Maintenance Department.
  • Train and mentor maintenance staff on predictive maintenance techniques and technologies.
  • Monitor equipment condition and predict failure modes using CMMS and predictive tools. The expected completion rate each month is no less than 95%.
  • Analyze trends and data to identify potential failures and recommend corrective actions in a Monthly Equipment Condition report
  • Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to schedule and prioritize maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, findings, and maintenance actions.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support planning and execution of shutdowns and major equipment overhauls.
  • Conduct technical reviews of vendors and contractors to ensure that they are capable of providing the equipment, machinery, and/or services that we require; Supervises drive-coupling alignments, balancing and oil analysis to make recommendations that support the data found.
  • Ensures the safety of themselves and all colleagues through enforcing safe work practices and providing motivation and effective communication.

Qualifications:

  • University Degree or College Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance, or a similar field, preferably in the cement or heavy industrial sector.
  • Strong knowledge of predictive maintenance tools and techniques.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, inspection equipment, and maintenance software.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment.
  • Intermediate to Advance computer skills; ability to utilize MS Office, SAP PM, Kronos, and other relevant software and programs pertaining to the role.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise reports.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy in conducting inspections and documenting findings.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Industrial plant environment with exposure to dust, noise, and high temperatures.
  • Requires physical activity including walking, climbing, and lifting.
  • May involve occasional weekend or evening work during shutdowns or emergencies or to meet monthly execution expectations

 

Salary Range: $110,000 to $120,000 per annum

 

Note: This role is applicable to a day schedule (Monday – Friday, 8am -4pm), with overtime and participation in the On-Call rotation. Some weekend work may be required.
