Summary/Job Scope:

We are seeking a detailed-oriented and technically skilled Draughtsperson to join our team.

 

This role is critical in supporting plant operations by producing accurate technical drawings, maintaining equipment documentation, and contributing to project planning and execution.  In this role you will be supporting department planners in terms of BOM and material master data, supporting projects department with the studies and on-site measurements and supporting inspectors to measure major wearing inspections, providing templates and sharing 3D results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, revise, and maintain detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings for mechanical, structural, and process equipment.
  • Support engineering, maintenance, and project teams with accurate drawings for modifications, upgrades, and new installations.
  • Manage spare parts in line with technical specifications, manufacturing tolerances and supplier selection.
  • Conduct on-site measurements and verify dimensions in the plant environment.
  • Maintain document control for drawings, manuals, and engineering records.
  • Assist with layout planning for plant improvements, equipment changes, and new construction.
  • Ensure all drawings comply with company standards, engineering best practices, and applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, contractors, and maintenance personnel to support safe and efficient work execution.
  • Provide technical input and drafting support during shutdowns, major repairs, and capital projects.

Working conditions relating to physical effort for this role has been rated Moderate-Intermediate (meaning physical activity (e.g. standing, walking, working in an awkward or constrained physical position or confined/restricted space) can be up to 50% of the workday.

 

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Drafting & Design, or a related field.
  • Experience in heavy industry, cement, mining, aggregates, or manufacturing an asset.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar drafting software.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, industrial equipment, and fabrication drawings.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with project planning or capital project execution.
  • Ability to work safely in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Ontario safety standards and industrial regulations.

 

Salary Range: $82,114.11 - $123,171.16

  • (offers will be based on qualifications, experience and education, which will determine where a candidate will fall in line with the above wage range)
