Summary/Job Scope:

Plans, prepares, and provides detailed planning and schedules for maintenance activities to improve plant overall productivity, efficiency, and cost. Some of the essential duties of the position include: developing the weekly, monthly and annual shutdown plans based upon plant and CMMS requirements; schedule work and equipment downtime in order to meet reliability, productivity and cost reduction goals; work with area supervisors to provide job specific plans and liaise with other departments that are involved with the execution of the plan and provides administrative assistance to maintenance with functions such as invoice processing, cost control, filing, data management, and vacation schedules.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintains and initiates improvements in SAP PM system - Code Notifications, Complete Work Orders, track KPI’s, Manage Sigga System.
  • Prepares lists of required materials, tools, and equipment when planning critical work orders.
  • Obtains quotes, enters PRs and performs follow-up for material and equipment required for maintenance.
  • Establishes and maintains a system for proper storage of materials, tools, and equipment of pre-work and parts for pending work.
  • Works with Supervisors and Stores department in doing this.
  • Creates maintenance schedules; establishes work sequences and lead time to complete major inspections and repairs.
  • Review, revise and develop job plan, routes and preventive/predictive maintenance frequencies for Mechanical department based on resource availability and/or cause analyses in order to realize the 13-week cycle of planning.
  • Confers with department Supervisors to determine status of assigned projects.
  • Identifies operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Creates and updates equipment and functional location BOMBs and critical spare parts lists
  • Assists in preparation of capital Project Funding Requests including technical and financial justifications.
  • Serves to assists in internal audits for ISO & safety audits, as required & internal & other.
  • Provides administrative assistance: safety contractor compliance, invoice processing, filing, data management and vacation schedules.

Qualifications:

  • Two-year college diploma and/or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum five years related experience of experience in maintenance planning within industrial or manufacturing environments, preferably in the cement industry.; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) or equivalent certification is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and other relevant software.
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP maintenance software, Sigga, SAP Ariba, MS Office, and MS Project. CMMS systems and accounting techniques and good mechanical aptitude. 
  • Strong understanding of maintenance best practices, reliability principles, and asset management.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards in industrial settings.

Salary Range: $110,000 to $130,000
