Draftsman/Draftswoman

SUMMARY/JOB SCOPE:
Draftsman is responsible to manage all technical library of the plant. Drafting all the necessary manufacturing drawings, managing all spare part (ordering, technical information, following up with the manufacturers, reception control and accepting). Supporting planners in terms of BOM and material master data. Supporting projects department with the studies and on-site measurements. Supporting inspectors to measure major wearing inspections, providing templates and sharing 3D results.
KEY RESPONSABILITIES:
- Drafting spare parts
- Drafting project studies
- Managing spare part with manufacturers
- Supporting inspections
- Managing plant technical library and software
- Providing necessary technical information to supervisor and workers
AUTHORITY/DECISION MAKING:
Key decisions to define spare part material quality, manufacturing tolerances, supplier selection with buyer, approve/reject any spare parts
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: (Include Org chart)
No direct report
COMMUNICATIONS:
- Interaction with all departments in the plant. Mech and Elec teams, supervisors and workers, production department, refractory drawings and also stock measurement volume calculations
- Interaction with corporate functions, mainly procurement and Capex/Engineering departmants.
- Interaction with suppliers, manufacturers and workshops.
INITIATIVE:
A high degree spare part responsibility. Material, quality, cost, lifetime control
INNOVATION:
Innovative thinking and taking decisions for increasing lifetime, solving the problems, material handling problems etc.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
- Understanding and apply correctly all the Operational Safety & Emergency procedures.
- Plant layout and equipment location.
- Cement and clinker process knowledge to be able to design the parts
- At least 10 years of heavy industry (mining,Iron&Steel) experience (preferably Cement) or at least 10 years of metal manufacturing industry experience.
- Metallurgical materials experience
- Heat treatment knowledge
Must have a detailed understanding of the functionality of the following systems:
- Microsoft packages (Excel, Word, Project)
- AutoCAD 3D and/or 3D drafting softwares
JUDGEMENT:
The Production Planner must:
- Perform several duties simultaneously and effectively prioritize to complete multiple work assignments in a complex, dynamic environment.
- Possess good oral and written communication skills to receive and execute instructions especially through two-way radio.
- Be an active team player looking for solutions together with the team.
- Plan the activities of the area including timeline, resources, external support, etc.
- Promote the best practices implementation.
PLANNING & ORGANIZATION:
Prioritizes and plans work activities; Uses time efficiently; Plans for additional resources; Sets goals and objectives; Develops realistic action plans.
PROBLEM SOLVING:
To be able to understand the pain points of the operation and providing solutions. Following lifetime of the spare parts and proposing/taking decision about material quality
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- College or university educational degree in technical careers; Cement and clinker process knowledge to be able to design the parts, At least 10 years of heavy industry (mining,Iron&Steel) experience (preferably Cement) or at least 10 years of metal manufacturing industry experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret training and related documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to employee groups, management at all levels of the company.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
MATHEMATIC SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Must have a solid working knowledge of computers and computer applications and be able to demonstrate minimal proficiency on common applications.
